Macintosh OS 9 Dial-Up Instructions

  1. Install your modem. Refer to your modem's manual for instructions.

  2. From the Apple Menu go to Control Panels and open the Remote Access Control Panel. Enter your username, password and the number your computer will dial for connection. (Refer to the list below for a number closest to your location)

  3. From the Apple Menu go to Control Panels and open the TCP/IP Control Panel. Make sure that your TCP/IP Control Panel is configured like the one below.



  4. From the Apple Menu go to Control Panels and open the Internet Control Panel.
    Personal Tab

    Name: Your name
    Email Address: your username@domain name. (username@saw.net)
    Organization: Name of the company asscociated with this account. If none, leave it blank.


    Email Tab
    User Account ID: your email username
    Incoming Mail Server: mail.saw.net
    Password: your email password
    Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server: mail.saw.net


    News Tab
    News (NNTP) Server: news.saw.net
    Connect to News Server as: Registered User
    Name: your email username
    Password: your email password
    Default News Application: choose your email application from the drop down list.


  5. Restart your Computer.

  6. You're now ready to connect to SawNet.
