Dial-Up Instructions

Your Dial-Up Networking must be installed
before making a new connection.

On your Desktop, click on the Start
button and go to Settings and then choose Dial-Up
Networking.

If you don't see Dial-Up Networking,
you must install it.
Dial-Up Networking Installation
- On your desktop, double-click on My Computer, then double-click
on Control Panel. Look for the Add/Remove Programs icon
and double-click on it.
- In the Add/Remove Programs window, click on the Windows
Setup tab.
- In the list of Windows components, double-click on Communication.
- Check the box next to Dial-Up Networking.
- Click Ok twice and have your Windows CD available.
- After Windows has completed the installation of Dial-Up Networking,
you can make a new Dial-Up Networking Connection.
Making a New Connection using Dial-Up Networking
- On your Desktop, click on Start, then Settings
and go to Dial-Up Networking.
- Double-click on Make New Connection.
Click Next.
- Enter SawNet as the
name for the computer that you are dialing. Choose the modem installed
in your computer.
Click Next.
- Enter the phone number
closest to your location from the list below.

Click Next.
- Click on Finish.
Dial-Up Networking Properties Instructions

Go
to Dial-Up Networking and RIGHT click on the SawNet icon
and select Properties.

Click on the Networking tab.
Be sure the settings are similar to the ones below.
- Click on the TCP/IP Settings tab and enter the addresses
in the boxes below.

Connecting to SawNet
Double-click on the SawNet icon and enter
your username and password. Then click on Connect.

Oregon users must use 10 digit dialing.

Click on Dialing-Properties.

Click on Area Code Rules. Check
the box next to Always dial the area area code(10-digit
dialing).
