Windows 95/98 Express
Setup
(Requires Internet Explorer 3.xx+)
Note: The Internet Setup Wizard
may prompt you for your Windows 95 or 98 CD-ROM or diskettes to copy necessary
system files needed to use your Internet connection.
1. Press the Start
button, then click on the Programs menu option.
A.) Select: Accessories,
Internet Tools, then click on Internet Setup Wizard
or Get on the Internet. This will bring up the Internet
Setup Wizard software.
B.) Select:
Internet Explorer, then click on the Connection Wizard.
This starts the Internet Connection Wizard.
2. The Wizard will prompt you for
pieces of information you defined when you set up your Saw.net account.
You should use the following information as a guideline answering these
questions or options. When you are done answering a question or choosing
an option make sure you click the Next button.
3. If the Wizard asks how you would
like to connect to the Internet choose the option that states, "Connect
using my phone line" and/or "Configure manually."
Connection Settings
1. If the Wizard asks if you would
like to create a new connection choose the option that allows you to create
a new connection.
2. When asked for a phone number
to access the Internet, enter the below appropriate number:

If asked to "Bring up terminal windows after dialing", leave the box unchecked
3. When asked for your Saw.net username
and/or password, make sure they are both entered in lowercase letters.
4. If the Wizard asks for your
IP address, choose the option that corresponds to "My server assigns me
one".
5. When asked for the DNS (Domain
Name Server) IP addresses, specify "Server Assigned DNS."
Email Settings
1. Use the setting below to configure
your email client.
Incoming Mail
Server (POP3): mail.saw.net
Outgoing Mail
Server (SMTP): mail.saw.net
Account or
Username: i.e. janedoe (Not janedoe@saw.net)
Email Address:
i.e. janedoe@saw.net
Usenet News Server Setting
1. Use the following setting to configure
your News Program.
News Server
(NNTP): news.saw.net
*Remember
if you are asked if the server requires you to login then specify No.
